Matthew 5:1-2

Sep 28, 2025    Pastor Joseph Hearn

Imagine standing at the foot of Mount Sinai — thunder crashes, smoke billows, and the mountain trembles as the voice of God booms from above. The people are afraid to draw near. But now, we gather at another mountain — not with fear and trembling, but with awe and invitation. Jesus, the greater Moses, sits down to teach. He doesn’t thunder from a distance; He speaks face-to-face. In the Sermon on the Mount, the King opens His mouth to declare the heart, the way, and the foundation of His Kingdom. This is not a lesser law — it is the fulfillment. It is not a list of rules — it’s a call to Christ-shaped living. Come, take your seat at the mountain. The King is speaking.
